Car Key Programming, Fobs, Transponders, and Smart Keys

A car key that won’t start your engine or unlock your doors usually means it isn’t correctly programmed to your vehicle. This is common after buying a replacement key online, getting a spare cut without programming, or after certain battery replacements.

We use industry grade equipment to pair your key, fob, or proximity card to your vehicle’s immobiliser and central locking system. Mobile service covering Peterborough and within a 35 mile radius.

frequently asked questions

My new car key won't start the engine — what's wrong?
Most likely the key hasn’t been programmed to your vehicle’s immobiliser. A key can be cut correctly but still fail to start the car if the chip inside hasn’t been coded. This is very common with keys bought online or as spare blanks. We can programme it on site.
In many cases yes, but it depends on the key blank and your vehicle. Some aftermarket blanks are not compatible with all systems. Call us with your car make, model, and year and we’ll confirm before you come to us.
It could be. Sometimes it’s simply a flat battery in the fob, which is a quick fix. If a new battery doesn’t resolve it, the fob may have lost its pairing with the car and needs reprogramming. Call us and we’ll talk you through it.
Most programming jobs are completed in 30 minutes or less once we’re on site. The time varies slightly depending on the key type and vehicle security system.
Yes. We use professional-grade diagnostic equipment that covers all major manufacturers and most vehicle security systems, including modern keyless entry and smart key technology.
No. Adding a new key to your vehicle’s system does not affect keys that are already coded. Your existing key will continue to work alongside the newly programmed one.
We come to you. Our service is fully mobile across Peterborough and within a 35 mile radius. You don’t need to visit a workshop or arrange transport.
An immobiliser warning light often indicates a key programming issue or a fault with the immobiliser system. We can connect to your vehicle’s system, diagnose the cause, and in most cases resolve it on site. Call us and describe what you’re seeing.
